Somerset County Elopement Officiant
Private, last-minute elopements with witnesses and same-day certified marriage certificates.
Somerset County is a good fit for couples who want to get married quietly and without unnecessary attention. Many of the towns here allow for simple, private elopements that don’t feel rushed or overcomplicated.
I’m Aretha Gaskin, a New Jersey elopement officiant who works with couples choosing Somerset County because they want a clear, straightforward experience.
I officiate the ceremony, make sure the paperwork is completed correctly, and guide you through what needs to happen before and after you’re married.
This is a good option for couples who want their elopement handled properly, without a lot of noise or confusion.

Witness Services
Some couples choose not to invite family or friends, while others are traveling and do not have witnesses available.
For Somerset County elopements, I can provide witnesses when needed.
This is arranged in advance and is especially helpful for couples who want a discreet ceremony or are eloping without guests.
Witnesses are available at $50 per witness.
Certified Marriage Certificates
Some couples need their Certified Marriage Certificate quickly for immigration, travel, employment, or legal reasons.
For eligible couples and depending on municipal availability, I can assist with obtaining a Certified Marriage Certificate as quickly as possible, including same-day processing when available.
This is discussed during booking so expectations are clear from the start.

Yes. I regularly work with couples who need to get married quickly, sometimes within days or even the same week.
Availability depends on your marriage license status and timing, but Somerset County elopements often move faster than couples expect.

New Jersey requires one witness when you apply for your marriage license and two witnesses on your elopement day.
If you do not have witnesses available or prefer to keep your elopement completely private, I can provide witnesses for both steps.
Witnesses are available at $50 per witness and are arranged in advance as part of the booking process.

In many cases, yes. Depending on eligibility and municipal availability, Somerset County couples may be able to receive their Certified Marriage Certificate on the same day they are married. This is especially helpful for couples with legal, travel, or time-sensitive needs, and it is a service many couples are not aware exists.
While Somerset County is a popular choice for private and last-minute elopements, I also officiate elopements throughout nearby areas.
I regularly work with couples in Union County, Essex County, Middlesex County, and Morris County, depending on timing and availability.
I also officiate elopements throughout New Jersey. View my New Jersey elopement services here.
How This Works
The first step is completing the consultation form. This allows me to review your date, location, and timing.
If I am available, I will follow up personally by text to confirm next steps and answer any immediate questions.
Once booked, your elopement is secured and the legal details are handled so you can focus on getting married.
This process is designed to be clear, efficient, and respectful of your time.
