This elopement was exactly what the couple wanted: just the two of them, their moms, their photographer and me as their elopement officiant.
Their ceremony took place at the entrance to the gazebo at Mindowaskin Park, with personal vows I prepared especially for them. After the ceremony, they explored the park with their photographer for portraits, family photos and beautiful detail shots throughout the grounds.

Depending on the municipality, civil ceremonies may only be offered on certain days or at limited times. The setting is functional because that's exactly what a courthouse is designed to be. Your ceremony may be very brief and you may be one of several couples getting married that day.
If that's exactly what you want, there's nothing wrong with it.
But if you're considering the courthouse simply because you want something small, uncomplicated and affordable, you have another option.
