A LITTLE about ARETHA
I’m Aretha Gaskin, a New Jersey wedding officiant and Certified Municipal Registrar. Weddings have been part of my life for more than a decade, but what keeps me here all these years is the people.
There is something incredibly special about being invited into a couple’s life for such an important moment. I get to hear their stories, meet their families and stand beside them as they begin a new chapter together.
For more than a decade, I've had the privilege of working as a wedding officiant for couples from different backgrounds, cultures and circumstances. Some have planned their wedding for months. Others have called me with only days, or even hours, to make it happen.
What I’ve learned is that the size of the wedding doesn’t determine the significance of the moment. Whether it’s an intimate elopement with two witnesses or a celebration surrounded by family and friends, I want every couple to feel that their ceremony matters.

Your ceremony photos will last a lifetime, so I’m mindful of how I complement your wedding. Couples are welcome to share their wedding colors or color palette, and I’m happy to coordinate my attire to beautifully complement the look and feel of the day.
