Frequently Asked DOC Questions

1. What is a Day of Coordinator?

Well, there really is no such thing as a Day-of Coordinator. Although this is a commonly used term/title, we are really Month-of Planners. My job is to connect with all your vendors and coordinate the logistics of your wedding day to ensure that everything that you have spent months planning, runs exactly as you envisioned. From ensuring that your vendors arrive on time to packing all your gifts and goodies at the end of the night..

2. What if our venue already has a Coordinator?

Venue Coordinators are great, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some terrific ones. But it’s important to note that the Venue Coordinator works for the venue, NOT for you. Their concern is that they are fulfilling all parts of your contract which more than likely does not include things like ensuring that the florist does not include carnations in your centerpieces or that all rented items are accounted for and returned etc.

3. Who should hire a Day of Coordinator?

If you’re planning your own wedding – hire a Day of Coordinator! Balancing your personal life, work and planning your wedding isn’t easy, and hiring a Day of Coordinator to deal with the logistics of your wedding day is well worth it.

4. What’s the biggest myth about Day of Coordinators?

That you don’t need one. SO. NOT. TRUE. Trust me, I’ve been doing weddings long enough to see the chaos that can ensue when there isn’t someone in charge of the logistics of the day or when the couple mistakenly thinks that the Venue Coordinator will handle things that they’re not contractually obligated to handle.
